GN develop and design our own vacuum unit for feeding our advanced GNCD930 series vertical G dryer in the drilling waste management system. The user may use vacuum unit or screw conveyor ( auger) to feed different type drilling cuttings, once the cuttings are not treated well by solids control system( shale shaker, desander, desilter, etc), the fluids content is very high, vacuum unit will be a good choice compared with auger, because too much fluids will leak from the screw conveyor cover and influence the efficiency of the auger feeding. But for the drilling cuttings already well treated by the solids control system or high G drying shaker, auger feedng will be a good way, too much solids might damage the vacuum unit ( pump) and influence its performance.
Most of the clients collect the drilling waste from the rig site, they may get various drilling waste, some are from the drilling well directly, some are from solids control system, they could prepare both of the screw conveyor and vacuum unit together, and make them as 2 separate feeding part, the operator could use either of them according to the material received from the site.
To operate the vacuum unit, you must need a air supply with required pressure at site, it could be controlled automatically or manually to feed the flowable material. The model of the vacuum unit could be choose by air pressure, lift and flow rate.
To operate the auger, you need to measure the actual distance from the vertical cuttings dryer ( drilling waste management) to the waste pit, GN solids control produced auger with different length for option, each section length is 12ft, we have 2 section, 3 sections or 4 sections for option, the auger diameter is customized according to the client’s required loading rate, motor power, installation angle from the ground level, etc.
