GN centrifuges earn their keep in plants that demand consistent dewatering under variable conditions. These four GNLW554-VFD units are the latest shipment supporting a major wastewater project. Built for an overseas sewage treatment plant, each unit is engineered for the kind of continuous duty and abrasive service that municipal and industrial wastewater facilities face every day.
The 554 is the workhorse of our dewatering line. A 22-inch (550mm) bowl with an extended beach gives operators the torque and residence time needed to hit low moisture targets without sacrificing throughput. VFD control on both the main and the backdrive allows the plant to tune performance as incoming sludge characteristics change — which is the reality in waste treatment, whether they admit it or not.
All four centrifuges are fitted with duplex stainless steel bowls, tungsten carbide wear protection in critical areas, and American-standard electrical components. The machines shown here are configured for polymer-assisted dewatering, giving the end user a cleaner centrate and a drier cake, which ultimately lowers their disposal cost. For most municipalities, that’s the economic driver behind adopting modern centrifuge systems.
You can see the build quality clearly in these units. Heavy-duty bearings, precision machining, and clean layout of the hydraulic and electrical systems reflect the same standards we apply across oil & gas, mining, and industrial clients. Wastewater may be a different industry, but the expectations for uptime and reliability are the same.
These four centrifuges will be integrated into a larger solids-liquid separation line overseas, and we will support them through commissioning and operation just as we do with our North American customers.
If your plant is evaluating centrifuge upgrades or wants a dewatering system built around predictable performance rather than guesswork, I am available to discuss flow rates, feed characteristics, or full-system design options.
