GN Solids Control made centrifuges are widely used to separate solids from different kind of solids. Several weeks ago, GN Solids Control provided a whole dewatering system by using GN centrifuge, some pretreatment equipment are all used in front of the GN decanter centrifuge.
Here are the main treating components in this dewatering system:
1.GN Shake Shaker
GN shale shaker is usually used as the first phase treating equipment as it can separate solids larger than 100 microns.
2.GN Vacuuum Degasser
GN Vacuum Degasser is mainly used to eliminate those finer bubbles inside the drilling mud before feed into GN desitler cyclones. Sometimes, a centrifugal degasser can be also used if there is not enough room to place a vacuum degasser.
GN desilter is the second phase treating equipment after GN shaker. GN desitler is a GN shaker fixed with 4 inch cyclones, which can eliminate solids larger than 25 microns. A feeding pump (usually centrifugal pump) is used to feed GN desilter.
Both the shaker screens used on GN shale shaker and GN desilter are made by GN Solids Control. GN made composite frame screens can be also used to replace the other world famous shaker screens, like NOV Venom screens and Derrick 500 screens etc.
As the key treating equipment, here 2 sets GN decanter centrifuges are used. One set will rotate at middle speed and other other set will rotate at high speed. Both of these 2 GN decanter centrifuges are 18 inch bowl. In order to save the total cost, the first centrifuge is a fixed speed economical centrifuge GNLW452 while the 2nd centrifuge is a VFD centrifuge GNLW453.
5.GN Chemical Dosing Unit
As we all know, only use mechanical separation is very hard to eliminate solids larger than 2~5 microns, especially those finer solids. So it is necessary to use a chemical dosing unit.
