GN Solids Control, one of the major manufacturers of equipment of solids control, separation and conveying equipment, recently shipped slurry separation plant to a pipe jacking engineering company.

GN Solids Control supplies different kinds of separation equipment to world market including decanter centrifuges, disc separators, screw presses, screw conveyors and many of other equipment. In addition to this, GN Solids Control also provide system solutions and slurry separation plant is one of the solutions.

The working principle of this slurry separation plant is to use shakers to remove solids. After a series of shaker separation process, majority of the particles will be removed from the slurry and separated water can be returned to the pipe jacking operation.

The first stage is shaker, which removes bigger particles. The screen used depends on particle size distribution. GN engineering team can provide proper screen opening selection.

The slurry after the separation of the first shaker goes down to a small buffering tank, then it is sent to a mud cleaner by a centrifugal pump for secondary processing. Mud cleaner has two means of separation, one is the hydrocyclone, which uses centrifugal force to remove solids, and shaker, which uses vibrating screens to get rid solids particle.

After all these separation process, the slurry will be sent back to pipe jacking process.

A major advantage of this system is that it is very compact, small foot-print, and high treatment capacity.

The engineering team of GN Solids Control put extensive effort to make system easy to use and maintain. For instance, all the maintenance locations, such as grease lubrication points and location for consumable replacement, are make easily accessible, which greatly help the daily operation and maintenance of the system.
