Sewage Treatment Slant Plate Clarifier and Screw Press for Overseas Client

GN Solids Control has recently delivered a complete sewage and sludge treatment solution to an overseas client, featuring a slant plate clarifier, screw press sludge dewatering machine, and an integrated chemical dosing unit. This system is designed to improve sludge concentration efficiency, reduce sludge volume, and support stable, cost-effective wastewater treatment operations.

Slant Plate Clarifier for Front-End Sludge Concentration

At the front end of the process, the inclined plate (slant plate) clarifier is used to pre-treat and concentrate sewage. By increasing the effective settling area within a compact footprint, the clarifier significantly enhances solid–liquid separation efficiency.

Suspended solids in the sewage settle rapidly along the inclined plates, forming concentrated sludge at the bottom while clarified water overflows from the top. This process increases sludge concentration and reduces the hydraulic load on downstream dewatering equipment, helping to improve overall system performance and stability.

Following the clarifier, the concentrated sludge is transferred to the screw press, which serves as the core sludge dewatering unit. The screw press uses slow-speed extrusion and multi-disc filtration to continuously separate water from sludge.

Compared with traditional dewatering equipment, the screw press offers low energy consumption, low noise, and minimal operator intervention. Its enclosed design also reduces odor emissions, making it suitable for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment projects.

To enhance dewatering efficiency, the system is equipped with a chemical dosing unit for flocculant preparation and injection. Proper dosing promotes sludge flocculation, improving solid capture in both the clarifier and screw press. Automated dosing control ensures consistent chemical usage while minimizing operating costs.
